Administration of the University
Philipps-Universität is run by the President's Office, which, in cooperation with the University Council, promotes its development with the other committees, departments, members and staff. Together with the Extended Presidial Body it discusses issues concerning the budget, personnel, organization and administration.
The Senate monitors the management of the chancellor’s office and discusses issues concerning research, teaching and study, which are important for the university as a whole or of fundamental concern. Committees can prepare decisions of the senate.
The members of the senate are elected through free, equal, secret and direct elections. The basis for cooperation between individual committees is regulated by university law, for example, the university law of the state of Hessen.
Central administration tasks of Philipps-Universität are handled by the university administration.
