CV and Publications
Seo-Young Cho is junior professor of economics and head of the Empirical Institutional Economics group at the University of Marburg. She joined the University of Marburg in 2013. Her research fields include institutional economics, the economics of crime, gender economics and applied methods. She received her doctorate in Economics from  Georg-August University of Goettingen in Germany and a master's degree in Public Affairs from Columbia University in New York in the U.S. Prior to her post in Marburg, she was a post-doctoral researcher at the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW-Berlin) and the University of Goettingen. Her work has appeared in international peer-reviewed journals such as World Development, European Journal of Political Economy, Social Science Quarterly, International Studies Quarterly, Scandinavian Journal of Economics, European Journal of Law and Economics, and elsewhere. She has also worked for various research projects on the issues of crime, security, and development for the European Union, the United Nations, and the German government. Additionally, Seo-Young Cho is the author of the 3P Anti-trafficking Policy Index measuring institutional efforts of combating human trafficking.
