Format Guidelines
Technical Requirements
Articles must be submitted by e-mail. The editors reserve the right to carry out final formatting in order to maintain the coherent appearance of the journal. Authors should remember that readers may wish to download files and print them for their personal convenience. The Editors take no responsibility for this.
Articles that are not submitted properly and conveniently will not be accepted.*
Language Policy
Articles may be submitted in any language. Indeed, authors are encouraged to submit articles in their native and/or most fluent written language. This increases the linguistic diversity of our joint discourse, which is considered to be preferable to monolithic unilingualism. In some cases, at the discretion of the editors, an article may be published in translation also. Because of the nature of the medium readers are able to access whatever is most convenient for them.
Abstract
All articles must begin with a short abstract. The Editors would appreciate receiving the abstract in English and – if different – the language of the article. The abstract must be a maximum of 250 words and should be a short summary of the article.
Text Formatting and Files
Articles must be submitted in the common file types of .rtf and .doc or other Windows/Microsoft compatible file types.
The text should be formatted as follows:
-
Size: DinA4
-
Type: Times New Roman
-
Type size: 12 pt
-
Line distance: 150% resp. 1,5-spaced
-
Alignment: left
Images
If your article contains colour or black and white images, please send them separately via e-mail to the Editor. Within the article indicate where the image should be placed by naming the file at the corresponding spot in the text. Pay attention to label the images uniquely and provide them in a printable size of at least 150 dpi. Images need to be .tiff or .jpeg format.
Quotations
Mark quotations with quotation marks commonly used in the language in which the article is written. Extensive quotations which are longer than two lines are to be marked by indentation, such as in the following example:
“Manifest plainness,
Embrace simplicity,
Reduce selfishness,
Have few desires.”
(Lao Tzu)
Mark omissions or insertions by setting square brackets: [...] or [example text].
Footnotes and annotations should be avoided wherever possible. If you must, please use endnotes that are to be placed between the main text of the article and the bibliography.
Bibliographical Information
Please use the defaults given by the Chicago Manual of Style or a comparable publication in the language of your article.
Information about the Author
Because of the possibility that some of our readers may want to contact you for further information about an article, please provide a brief profile of yourself at the end of your article. State your university affiliation, contact information (e-mail address) and a short biographical note.
* For special requests and further information contact the editors
prior to submission. In no case submit articles that deviate from these
guidelines without the express permission of the editors.
