NMR-based structural analysis of non-isotope-enriched biopolymers,sugar-amino acid hybrids and peptidomimetics,shape-persistent peptides with directed hydrogen-bond networks
The Hilt group is working on low-valent cobalt and iron based catalysts in atom economic processes for carbon-carbon bond formations. The main focus is on [m+n+o]-cycloaddition reactions, cyclotrimerisations, hydrovinylations, Alder-ene-, intermolecular ring expansions and other reactions which are hard to realise under thermal conditions without catalysis.
Organic synthesis (natural products, medicinal chemistry), synthetic ion channels and molecular switches
The group is working on the development of asymmetric transition metal-catalyzed reactions - especially the use of Rh-complexes for additions to carbonyls and Ru-complexes for hydrogenations. In addition, we are performing natural product research with a focus on total syntheses.
