Organic Chemistry in Marburg
Prof. Dr. Armin Geyer
NMR-based
structural analysis of non-isotope-enriched biopolymers,sugar-amino
acid hybrids and peptidomimetics,shape-persistent peptides with
directed hydrogen-bond networks Prof. Dr. Gerhard Hilt
The Hilt group is working on low-valent
cobalt and iron based catalysts in atom economic processes for
carbon-carbon bond formations. The main focus is on
[m+n+o]-cycloaddition reactions, cyclotrimerisations, hydrovinylations,
Alder-ene-, intermolecular ring expansions and other reactions which
are hard to realise under thermal conditions without catalysis.
Prof. Dr. Ulrich Koert
Organic synthesis
(natural products, medicinal chemistry), synthetic ion channels and
molecular switches Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Manfred Reetz
The Reetz group focuses on directed
evolution of stereoselective enzymes as catalysts in synthetic organic
chemistry.
Prof. Dr. Paultheo von Zezschwitz
The group is working on the development of asymmetric
transition metal-catalyzed reactions - especially the use of
Rh-complexes for additions to carbonyls and Ru-complexes for
hydrogenations. In addition, we are performing natural product research
with a focus on total syntheses.
Jun.-Prof. Dr. Lilu Zhang
Research
interests of the Zhang group are focused on using Natures strategies to
control the stacking of functional units with the goal to create new
assemblies and materials with novel properties.
