INTRODUCTION TO OUR SCIENTIFIC FIELDS
During the past years our group targeted a broad spectrum of research
items within the field of nature conservation. Emphasis was given to
interdisciplinary projects, especially regarding agriculture, the
development of the methodology and advice to administration, NGOs and
public. For this we co-operated with more than 20 national institutions
and – internationally – with research institutions an administration in
Italy, Austria, France, USA, Georgia, Russian Federation, the Ukraine,
and Sweden. In general, we focussed on the protection of biodiversity
and ecological processes in overally used landscapes and the solution
of conflicts between nature conservation and the local exploitation of
natural resources. Beyond that we dealt with the development of
strategies and methods of nature conservation.
