I am interested in the processing of polarized light in photoreceptors and optic-lobe interneurons in the brain of the desert locust Schistocerca gregaria. Through intracellular recordings I investigate the receptive fields and spectral sensitivities of these neurons. In addition to physiological characterization, the projections of photoreceptors and interneurons are studied morphologically. |
