My intention is to identify the peptide hormones of the intestine of
Drosophila melanogaster and other dipterans by means of
analytical methods (HPLC, MALDI-TOF MS).
The subsequent aim will be to localize the respective endocrine gut
cells and to elucidate the function of these regulatory peptides with
regard to food intake behavior, metabolism, and growth.
