Confocal laser scanning microscope

The confocal laser scanning microscope (CLSM) is an important tool
for many research groups in the department. It is a versatile
instrument which can be used for imaging but also for quantitative
analysis (fluorescence, reflection). The CLSM (a Leica TCS SP2 mounted
on an upright Leica DM RE) was acquired by nine groups of the
department with support of Hochschulbauförderungsgesetz (HBFG). System
administrators (see below) take care of the instrument, the user
accounts and the training of users. Acknowledged users can book working
time at the CLSM via an online calendar.
