The RTG 1782 in brief:
Modern semiconductor devices very often nowadays reach the limit of their applications. This frequently has to do with reaching fundamental physical limits of the devices. The RTG "Functionalization of Semiconductors" addresses this challenge by integrating novel materials or molecules to conventionally used semiconductors, giving them a new functionality.
In an interdisciplinary research program, 14 groups from physics, chemistry and material science work closely together in this field of research.
