Siarhey Yushkevich

Yushkevich Siarhei studied at the Theological Institute of the Belarussian State University (2006). Now he is a postgraduate student at the National Institute of Higher Education in Minsk, Belarus. The theme of his PhD project is “Ecological imperative and formation of social value system”.

The object of my investigation is a society as a dynamic social system. The aim of my thesis is to analyze the specificity of formation of social value system on the basis of ecological imperative. I focus my attention on the notion of social consciousness, and examine different philosophical and social concepts of historical progress of social consciousness. Axiological component of society also deserves a special attention. To analyze connection between forming ecological consciousness and Christian values seems to me very interesting. I state that Christian values play a special role and place in the process of formation of axiological component of social consciousness in Belarusian society. In the thesis I examines Christian attitude to the nature and explore the hypothesis that religion has special significance in solving ecological problems in the contemporary postindustrial society.
