Staff Development
It is possible in certain situations to earn a PhD at the Center for Conflict Studies. Scholarships are available either via currently-active grant programs or via specially-written grants for that purpose. A doctoral program is always connected to a professor and an academic department.
The recently-developed structured doctoral program MARA: "Transitional Justice after Mass Violence" allows for interdisciplinary research questions and offers structured support during the dissertation process. Since 2004, there have also been options for PhD-candidates at the DFG postgraduate program Group-focused Hostility". There are also possibilities through the Marburg Doctoral Candidate Group for the Social Sciences, which offers networking and financing possibilities for various research focuses.
