Marie Curie Individual Fellowships: New call for proposals for the funding of research stays for junior scientists
Deadline: 14 August 2013
The program "People" is a Specific Program of the 7th Research Framework Programme (FP7: 2007- 2013) and is equipped with a budget of EUR 4.7 billion. The program's goal is to support the mobility of junior scientists and also, through the specific actions of the "Marie Curie Actions", to help establish a "European employment market for researchers". Researchers either with a PhD or at least four years of full-time research experience can apply. The calls are open to any field of research. In case of funding, the project will be carried out at a chosen host institution abroad. Funding comprises the researcher´s salary as well as a mobility allowance and a contribution to the research costs.
From today, calls for three different fellowships are open.
Intra-European Fellowship (IEF)
With this fellowship, researchers of any nationality coming from any
discipline may do their own research project at a host institution of
either an EU- or FP7-associated country. The mobility rule applies: the
researcher must not have spent more than 12 months during the last
three years in the host country.
International Incoming Fellowships (IIF) Researchers from any discipline coming from a Third Country are able to finance their research stay in an EU- or FP7-associated country with this fellowship. As for the IEF, the mobility rule also applies. Researchers from ICPC countries (International Cooperation Partner Countries; Eastern Europe, developing or emerging countries) may also, in addition to the maximum of two years project time, apply for the financing of a return period of one year.
International Outgoing Fellowships (IOF) With this fellowship, a research stay in a third country is funded. After the project duration of a maximum of two years, a one-year return phase follows in Europe. The mobility rule applies and the researcher can choose his/her research topic freely.
For each of the three calls there are different Guides for
Applicants:
- Guide for Applicants (common part)
This guide gives information which concerns all three fellowship types
such as the general structure of the proposal and the online submission
SEP (Electronic Proposal Submission system).
- Guide for Applicants (specific part)
This part gives information on the different elements of the structure
of the proposal as well as the aims and the evaluation criteria.
- Guide for Applicants (ethics)
This guide gives information on how to deal with ethical issues that
might arise during the project.
Deadline for all three calls: 14 August 2013.
