Description
One important part of scientific work is presenting at
conferences and chairing conference boards. However, since we do not often
receive many opportunities to do this, it is difficult to develop daily
routines for this purpose. This workshop is meant to help you develop the
skills to chair conference boards with confidence and enjoyment. How can I support
lecturers when introducing them and capture the audience’s interest in what I have
to say? How can I initiate and lead a profitable, entertaining and objective
discussion after the lecture? How do I manage time and avoid wasting it?
If you are willing to share experiences, practice and discuss these questions with colleagues, this workshop provides an excellent platform to do that.
The learning process contains short presentations and input from the lecturer, the exchange of experiences, training units, case simulations, case discussions, observations, reflections, and feedback.
For feedback purposes, there will be a video camera at hand.
Please bring a concrete draft of introductory words for a conference board. You can bring a draft you have already used, one you are planning to use or a fictitious one. We will use this material to go through concrete cases and practice specific situations!
