Protein identification: proteolytic in-gel digest (or in-solution digest), followed by MALDI-TOF-MS peptide fingerprints and MS/MS analyses combined with database searches.

(i) nano-HPLC chromatography system Ultimate 3000 (Dionex) coupled to a fraction collector PROTEINEER fc (Bruker Daltonics) for direct spotting of complete LC-runs on a MALDI-TOF target.

#2D analysing Software:

(i) Delta2D (Decodon) for aligning 2D-gel images by (automatic) warping, thus eliminating differences in spot position. Warped images are then overlaid to produce dual channel images with clearly visible qualitative and quantitative differences in expression levels.


 
#Fluorescence-Laser-Scanner:

(i) Typhoon Trio (GE Healthcare)  for 2-D Fluorescence Difference Gel Electrophoresis  (DIGE) + ImageQuant TL software for analysis of 1D / 2D gel images and Decyder software for the analysis of 2D DIGE images
