Orientation Programmes for International Students

The orientation programme will take place from 2nd to 5th April at the Mensa building, Erlenring 5 (Studentenwerk).

Monday, 02.04.2012

09.00 a.m. Check in, welcome and breakfast. Distribution of the Student Identity Card
10.00 a.m. Allocation of the reserved accommodation
11.00 a.m. Explanation of the lease contract, the Student ID card and U-Cards
12.30 a.m. Shuttle to the dormitories
07.00 p.m. Optional: Guided tour through the "Student Village"/Studentendorf (duration: approx. 1 hour)
08.30 p.m. Get-together in town

09.00 a.m. Breakfast
10.00 a.m. Formalities I: opening a bank account, contracting a health insurance, registering with the urban administration
01.00 noon Lunch
02.00 p.m. Guided city tour
09.00 p.m. Meeting at Schwarz-Weiss in the Student Village/Studentendorf

09.00 p.m. Formalities II: Bank account, health insurance, urban administration, semester and participation fee
12.00 p.m. Lunch
01.00 p.m. Tour through the university library
03.00 p.m. Formalities III: information on Transcripts of Records, contact to faculties

Thursday, 05.04.2012

09.00 a.m. Distribution of university documents
11.00 p.m. "Study Online": information on internet access for students, the University of Marburg's online course catalogue and the online learning platform ILIAS
01.00 p.m. Lunch
02.00 p.m. Preparations for the final evening
08.00 p.m. International Dinner at the Schwarz-Weiss in the Studentendorf/Student Village.
