Student Counselling Service


The Student Counselling Service in Marburg is called the "ZAS", which stands for the "Zentrale Arbeitsstelle für Studienorientierung und –beratung". It is the official university office to contact for information and counselling regarding studies at Marburg University. Access is open to all students, potential students, and student counsellors.

The main functions of the Student Advisory Centre are to provide students with:

Information about German universities and available programs for study.
Support for students to find appropriate contacts if problems arise.
Academic Counselling on choosing a course of studies or major, changing universities, withdrawing from a school, and questions about determining career possibilities.
Help with learning problems, poor study habits, nervousness before exams and other studies-related problems.


The office hours of the Student Advisory Centre are:
Mon. and Fri. from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
and Wed. from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. or by appointment.

Mon. to Tue. from 08:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon and from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Fri. from 08:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon
