Enrollment in the Doctoral Program
Enrollment in the doctoral program is possible until the middle of November for the Summer Semester, and the middle of June for the Winter Semester.
The following documents are to be submitted:
- A completed application of admission (see link below)
- Confirmation of admission as a doctoral candidate from the dean of the respective department (if the admission is longer than one year, the supervisor should confirm that the dissertation is still valid)
- A receipt verifying payment of semester fees (see link below)
- A certified copy of all examination certificates
- Transcripts from the most recently attended college or university with details about the duration of your study (number of semesters you have studied as well as number of semesters in your major/minor) including vacation semesters for the respectively selected courses of study
Transfer into the Doctoral Program
Marburg University students who have successfully completed their studies and who would like to register for a doctoral program the following semester should please submit the following documents within the registration period:
- A transfer application (see link below) - in the box labeled “desired degree,” please write “06” for the doctoral program)

Confirmation of admission as a doctoral candidate, and
- A simple, uncertified copy of your examination certificates
