„Brain hacking strategies: memory, sleep, dreaming”
Humans have always sought to optimize their mental and physical abilities. In addition to modern pharmacological and technological approaches, also more traditional cognitive and behavioral attempts to enhance brain function have recently gained increased attention. In this talk I will present three different research lines from our lab that investigate such brain hacking strategies: mnemonic training for exceptional memory performance, polyphasic sleep schedules to radically reduce the need for sleep, and lucid dreaming induction to enhance metacognitive capacity during sleep.
