    1. PhD thesis project: “Spatial dynamics of microplastics and interactions with heavy metals in floodplain soils” since 04/2019 (Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Christian Opp)

    Project goals:

    • Development of a new process-oriented approach to understand the spatial dynamics of microplastics and possible links with heavy metals in floodplain soils
    • Quantification and assessment of microplastic contamination in floodplain soils
    • Reconstruction of the sedimentation dynamics of microplastics in floodplain sediments based on a combined approach of dating methods and soil survey data
