About Me:

I am a computational biologist and am interested in the mechanistic understanding of cellular biology. I received my Ph.D. in computational chemistry/biology from the Technical University of Denmark working with Prof. Kasper P. Kepp and jointly accomplished my thesis in the laboratory of Prof. Eugene Shakhnovich at Harvard University. My research spans a wide range of frameworks in bioinformatics and computational biology from next-generation sequence analysis to molecular simulations. In particular, I am always keen to use newly developed technologies such as single-cell RNA-seq and proteomics to better understand cellular biology. As a group leader at the center for human genetics of Marburg University, I work on omics integration for the biological interpretation of the genome-wide association signals of complex diseases.
