Vita

Jan-Christoph Pfeiffer studied Near and Middle Eastern Studies with a focus on Politics and Arabic Studies at the Center for Near and Middle Eastern Studies in Marburg, Germany, Ain Shams University and Cairo University in Egypt, and the International Center for Persian Studies at Tehran University in Iran from 2015 to 2022. He wrote his master's thesis on Syrian refugees in the Syrian regime's discourse of citizenship.
From 2018 to 2022, he worked in various projects at CNMS including as a tutor for academic writing, Introduction to Near and Middle Eastern Studies, and Arabic. Since 2022, he has been working as a research assistant for Modern Arabic Literature and Culture at CNMS in the Department of Arabic Studies.
