  • Profile

    Dr. Irem Aki is a postdoctoral guest researcher at the Center for Conflict Studies. She is a Philipp Schwartz Initiative fellow for 2019-2021. 

    In her research she is exploring Queer perspectives in Transitional Justice. Before coming to Marburg, she was a research assistant at the Law Faculty of Ankara University. She has taught courses on the Philosophy of Law, Law and Literature and seminars/legal clinics on Law and Gender at Ankara University Law School. 

  • Research Interests

    Irem's research interests and scholarly publications are on the jurisprudence of Lon. L. Fuller, the rule of law, law and literature, feminist and queer legal theory, transformative and transitional justice.

  • Curriculum Vitae

    Irem studied law at Ankara University, where she received her MA (2008) and PhD (2015) degrees in the Philosophy and Sociology of Law. She worked as a research assistant at Ankara University, Faculty of Law, Philosophy and Sociology of Law Department (2009-2017) and Cag University, Faculty of Law (2007-2009).
