16.05.2025 Two new Doctoral Students in our Working Group
This spring, we welcomed our two new doctoral students Lea Obermüller and Christopher Janas. However, the two are already familiar faces in our working group. Both have already successfully completed their Master's theses in our team.
In her doctoral thesis, Lea is working on the development of planet-centered design principles for terawatt-scalable perovskite solar cells. Sustainability aspects should be an integral part of the design process from the outset and be combined with technological innovations in an iterative approach. The aim is to develop solar cells with maximum efficiency that also meet the requirements of a sustainable energy transition.
Christopher is focusing on the stability of tandem solar cells made from perovskites. His initial research will focus on NBG and WBG single junctions, while developing hyperspectral microscopy specifically for tandem solar cells. Once efficient tandem devices are achieved, he will conduct structured aging studies to analyze individual stress factors such as temperature, ambient gases and light. A major focus of his work will be to identify degradation mechanisms beyond those observed in single junctions, particularly in the more complex tandem systems, and to develop remedial strategies.
We are very pleased that both of them are still an integral part of our team!
