I study the interactive effects of humans and the environment on biotic interactions and ecosystem processes. My doctoral thesis focuses on the effect of deforestation on plant populations and seed dispersal by birds and mammals. Our study is located in Białowieża, the last lowland primeval forest in Europe and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which was affected by illegal logging during our research period.
