International Doctoral Degrees in Marburg:
Marburg International Doctorate

Through the project Marburg International Doctorate, the Philipps-Universität helps doctoral candidates develop an international profile. The project helps doctoral degree candidates at the Philipps-Universität qualify for a career in an international setting.

The funding lines "research stays" and "conference participation" enable doctoral candidates to conduct research at partner institutions and share their results with an international peer audience. Doctoral candidates can make a name for themselves in global networks and publish early in their career in an international setting.

The funding line "short-term stays" helps the Philipps-Universität acquire outstanding graduate students from abroad to complete their doctorate degree at the Philipps-Universität. It enables graduate students and potential advisors to get to know in Marburg and start work on a doctoral project.

The funding lines will be announced at regular intervals. The Marburg International Doctorate project committee will review and decide on the applications.

By offering information sessions and the Getting Started workshop series in cooperation with the MArburg University Research Academy (MARA), Marburg International Doctorate also helps doctoral students from abroad to get oriented in the German academic system and acquire skills beyond their field of specialization for successfully completing their doctoral degree and continuing their professional development.
