  • What makes MIX so unique?

    We have exclusive and highly diverse study options for everyone! You can:

    • choose and take classes from a wide range of different study programs
    • sign up for classes beyond your study program and add interdisciplinary skills to your study profile

  • Academic Calendar

    Fall/Winter

    • First week of September: International Student Orientation for students taking optional pre-sessional intensive German classes
    • First week of October: International Student Orientation for students not taking pre-sessional intensive German classes
    • Mid-October - mid-/end of February: Lecture time and exam period
    • End of February - mid-April: no lectures

     

    Spring/Summer

    • First week of March: International Student Orientation for students taking optional pre-sessional intensive German classes
    • First week of April: International Student Orientation for students not taking pre-sessional intensive German classes
    • Mid-April - mid-/end of July: Lecture time and exam period
    • End of July - mid-October: no lectures
  • Application

    • We welcome all exchange students from our partner universities who have been nominated by their home universities (e.g. Erasmus or Oversea program partners) or who wish to join us as on their own as freemover students.
    • Please visit the following website to find out if your university is one of our partner universities and for more information on application procedures as well as contacts at https://www.uni-marburg.de/en/studying/studying-at-umr/exchange
    • There is no particular application procedure for joining MIX: Once you have been accepted to do your study abroad at Philipps-Universität Marburg you are free to participate and take classes across all disciplines by joining MIX. Of course, you are free to choose if you prefer to join MIX or rather stick to your core study program by taking classes within your hosting department only.
    • In order to sign up for MIX, simply check the box when registering in our online application platform Mobility Online. Detailed information will be provided by your Marburg program officer upon nomination through your home university.

  • Participating Departments and Schools

    Kindly note that only selected departments are currently opening their classes to MIX. Check out the UMR online course catalogue at https://marvin.uni-marburg.de/qisserver/pages/cm/exa/coursecatalog/showCourseCatalog.xhtml?_flowId=showCourseCatalog-flow&_flowExecutionKey=e1s1  for a list of departments (“Fachbereiche”) that are currently opening designated classes for MIX. When opening the course catalogue’s landing page, make sure to scroll down to “Marburg International Exchange MIX: Humanities and Social Sciences” to get a list of classes that are part of MIX.
