Before Arrival
Visa
For legally valid information please check with the German embassy or consulate in your country
Rule of thumb: Citizens of the US, Canada, Australia, Israel, Japan, South Korea and New Zealand can enter Germany as a tourist, i.e. with only their passport. This tourist visa is valid for 90 days.
This should be kept in mind if travels are planned before or after our program.
Insurance
Health Insurance
A combined health, accident and personal liability insurance for the duration of the programme can be arranged. This is highly recommended. Please apply for the insurance until November 15.
The insurance is offered by the German Academic Exchange Service. DAAD scholarship holders receive this insurance automatically.
The costs for the insurance are EUR 178. Participants are covered during the program dates. Please contact us for further information.
Please note that a valid insurance is required to participate in the programme. In cases of other than the above mentioned insurances, The University of Marburg does not assume any liability in cases of problems when applying for a visa as well as problems regarding the insurance coverage (e.g. in cases of medical treatments).
Furthermore we recommend buying insurance for travel times before and after the program.Things to not forget
