Basic guidelines

  • Please enter the library individually and move around the premises and its rooms on your own as well. Keep a distance of at least 1.5 metres between yourself and other people. Keep right on the stairs and make sure that you take the elevator alone.
  • The atrium of the University Library may only be used as an entrance to the library itself and to the Colibri coffee shop. Eating, drinking or staying in the atrium is prohibited.
  • Inside the libraries, a surgical mask or protective mask of the standards FFP2, KN95, N95 or comparable without an exhalation valve (medical mask) must always be worn. The obligation to wear a mask is valid until the user has taken up his/her own workstation or seat, provided that a minimum distance of 1.5 m from other persons can be safely maintained there. If the minimum distance of 1.5 m to other persons cannot be kept, wearing the mask is mandatory even after the user has taken up his/her workstation or seat. Working areas where a mask is required are marked within the libraries.
  • Crossing the gate area of the University Library, the Library of Law and the Central Medical Library as well as access to PC rooms and further, separately marked areas is bound to the presentation of a negative proof according to § 3 CoSchuV for all persons. Please carry it with you during your entire visit, preferably in digital form and show it upon request together with an official photo identification.
  • From October 18th, 2021, masks will no longer be provided in the libraries.

Please stick to the rules and help us to prevent the spread of the corona virus. The University Library and its branch libraries can only remain open if everybody obeys the rules. Therefore, persons who do not comply with it will be expelled from the library immediately.
