10.11.2025 Poster Awards at the SFB/TRR 393 Retreat
Top three posters selected from almost 70 excellent research projects by Early Career Researchers
During the 2025 retreat of the Collaborative Research Center SFB/TRR 393, three Early Career Researchers were recognized for their outstanding scientific poster contributions. In three poster sessions across the 3.5 day event, Early Career Researchers from all SFB/TRR 393 sites as well as the associated International Research Training Group 2773 "Risks and Pathomechanisms of Affective Disorders" were invited to present current projects, receive feedback and exchange new ideas.
Benjamin Straube, one of the principal investigators of the SFB's own Research Training Group, led through the award ceremony and commended the high level of scientific excellence in all of the sessions with a total of almost 70 scientific posters. He thanked all poster presenters as well as all attendees for engaging in lively discussions and giving critical feedback.
"It was a close race", he revealed, thanking all attendees for voting on the best poster of each day, rating scientific excellence, poster presentation, and poster design, "but the votes also showed a clear winner for each day." He then called the following Early Career Researchers to the stage to award them with their certificate and a gift voucher for a specialist book shop:
- Vera Ludwig (Dresden) with her poster titled "Predicting Depressive and Manic Episodes in Patients With Bipolar Disorder Using Statistical Process Control Methods on Passive Sensing Data."
- Alina Nostadt (Marburg), with her poster titled "Transdiagnostic Identification of Cognitive Subtypes and White Matter Correlates."
- Claudia Förster Ribet, Tung Anh Nguyen, and Theresa Kolb (Dresden), with their poster titled "The Impact of Physical Activity on Hormonal, Metabolic, and Inflammatory Mediators and the Regulation of Affective States."
“These posters also show the variety of projects that are possible with the rich dataset we are collecting" Straube said, before leading into the presentation of each of the winning posters - all winners had the opportunity of presenting their work in a short talk to the whole assembly and answering questions from the audience.
In his subsequent summary address, Tilo Kircher, spokesperson of the SFB/TRR 393, also commended the high engagement of all attendees during the lively poster discussions and the high quality of the presented posters, highlighting the strong contributions of young scientists to the SFB/TRR 393 research goals. Their work demonstrates the collaborative spirit and innovative approaches driving the success of the SFB/TRR 393 projects.
Congratulations to all winners!
