At the end of October, members of the SFB/TRR 393 and invited international guests gathered for a productive retreat at the Kulturrathaus in Dresden. The event brought together 130 researchers from all participating institutions to discuss recent progress, strengthen collaborations, and explore new directions.

Over the course of 3.5 fully-packed days, inspiring keynote talks by national and international experts, fruitful discussions in multiple interactive workshops, and lively and engaged poster sessions offered valuable scientific exchange and fostered interdisciplinary dialogue and collaboration.

Besides several scientific lectures on current developments in the field of affective disorder research, another highlight for many attendees were the keynote and interactive workshop by lived experience experts, sharing their perspective on the SFB's work and insights into incorporating the knowledge of individuals living with the disorders we research into our work.

The retreat demonstrated the continued commitment of all members of the SFB/TRR 393 to advancing research in the field of affective disorders, contributing to an inspiring and collaborative atmosphere, and supporting young scientists in their development.

We thank all participants for their contributions and are already looking forward to our next retreat in 2026 in Münster!
