About the event
The roundtable introduces the idea of cooperative research, understood as an umbrella term for collaborative forms and practices of knowledge production, in which researchers partner with international, civil society or community-based organisations, networks and initiatives on mutually beneficial terms. Inputs from early career and established scholars in geography, political science and history will serve to demonstrate the potential for cooperative research to make research meaningful and impactful for the partners involved and communities affected. Furthermore, as insights from security, peace and conflict studies show, it can serve to mitigate risks and access barriers faced in research in conflict-affected or authoritarian contexts.
The event is kindly supported by the Collaborative Research Center “Dynamics of Security” and the University’s Creative Space.
