“The Calligrapher Workshop” narrates the daily life of Mohamed Hamam, a retired calligrapher, a very outgoing person who likes being surrounded by people, chatting, smoking and sharing. Everyday, he goes to his workshop in downtown Cairo to preserve “the youth of his soul”. He and his friends are observed through the prism of changes rocking Cairo.
