Quantitative Analytical Chemistry

The Seubert Group deals with all facets of quantitative analytical chemistry. Our methodical fields of work extend from mass spectrometry to HPLC with a focus on ion exchange chromatography. Therein, we are interested in the chromatographic separation of labile compounds and biomolecules in complex matrices as well as ultra-trace analysis and elemental speciation analysis. In chemical synthesis we are focused on the production and functionalization of HPLC-compatible polymers.

Current research projects:

• Development of stationary phases for ion chromatography
• Investigations towards mixed retention mechanism on polymer-based chromatography columns
• Production of polymeric fabrics for applications in ion chromatography
• Characterization of labile complexes with aluminium and iron
• Development of chromatographic methods for the analysis of non-standard amino acids in biochemical research
