Welcome to the website of the software engineering research group

The digital transformation in our society influences all aspects of human life. This transformation offers a lot of chances but also poses widespread challenges to our society. For example, the number of applications for mobile devices is constantly growing. Work flows and business processes are changing becoming increasingly automated and data-driven. Data-centric processes visit heterogeneous data sources across domain borders which leads to a closer integration of domains.

To tackle these and further challenges, the heterogeneity of software technologies will further increase. Software developers do not have the time to wait for a homogenization of the technology portfolio, hence they have to deal with this heterogeneity. The digitization also influences the way how software is developed. 

Teaching and research of the software engineering working group deal with these challenges and contribute to their solutions.
