Supervision Concept
The RTG's supervision concept combines intensive academic mentoring with targeted promotion of independent research. Doctoral researchers are supported in further developing their academic profiles, making optimal use of the opportunities offered by the interdisciplinary research environment, and successfully completing their doctoral projects within the funding period. Each doctoral researcher is supported by a three-member Thesis Advisory Committee (TAC), comprising a Principal Investigator (PI) with expertise closely related to the research project (primary supervisor), another PI from a complementary discipline (secondary supervisor), and an external scholar from Germany or abroad. The composition of each TAC is tailored specifically to the respective research project and individual needs of the doctoral researchers. This ensures personalised supervision that addresses both the academic requirements of the project and the researcher’s individual scholarly development and career planning.
