07.09.2026 Open Science Train-the-Trainer Retreat 2026

Discover and discuss teaching practices, strengthen Open Science in education, and collaborate with peers. Nov 2, 10:00–17:00 (on-site), Kickoff: Oct 19 (online). Free registration until Sept 20.

Do you want to learn and discuss good teaching practices with a community of like-minded peers? Do you want to strengthen the integration of open science principles in your teaching?

Then join this year's Open Science Train-the-Trainer Retreat, hosted by the Open Science Initiative University Marburg (OSIUM) and supported by MARA and the eResearch Center.

The TTT retreat is is conceptualized as a one-day unconference: the participants share their own teaching ideas, receive targeted feedback, and learn from the teaching concepts of others. Past editions have covered a wide range of practical, teaching-relevant topics (you can browse last year's sessions and materials here). During the morning session, participants will exchange ideas and insights on Open Science, data literacy, and coding competence in higher education. In the afternoon, they will have the freedom to work on self-selected projects to apply these concepts to their own research and teaching.

To plan the morning unconference sessions for the retreat, we will hold a 1-hour online kickoff meeting two weeks prior to the on-site event.
