  • Learning objectives 

    This is a bachelor-level course emphasizing a detailed selection of topics in Institutional Economics. Through close analysis of specific fields, , we will
    analyze the institutional interaction effects between individuals and markets, as well as shed light on the welfare implications. Our analyses will be based on the application of microeconomic theory.

    Students will acquire microeconomic-based methods for analyzing various institutions inhabiting and interacting within economies.

  • Methodology

    The course is, to a considerable extent, literature-based and complemented by selected textbooks. Participants are expected to read the relevant journal articles. A comprehensive reading list will be provided at the beginning of the course. The core findings of each article will be presented by the lecturer and discussed in class. Complementary problem sets and exercises closely related to the content of the lectures will be also solved in class.

    Grading is exclusively based on the final exam.
