MACIES

The Marburg Centre for Institutional Economics and Sustainability, MACIES (formerly MACIE) was established in Marburg by Prof. Dr. Karl Paul Hensel in 1957 as the „Forschungsstelle zum Vergleich wirtschaftlicher Lenkungssysteme“ (Research centre for the comparison of economic allocation systems). The Research centre was situated in the facilities am Barfuessertor 2, which is now used (amongst others) by the research group Institutional Economics. There, you find memorial tablets about Prof. Dr. Karl Paul Hensel, which were given to the MACIES by the Doris und Dr. Michael Hagemann-Stiftung as a present. Prof. Dr. Elisabeth Schulte is the executive director of the MACIES. Please find further information on the websites of the Marburg Centre for Institutional Economics and Sustainability (MACIES).
