MACIE

The Marburg Centre for Institutional Economics (MACIE) was established in Marburg by Prof. Dr. Karl Paul Hensel in 1957 as the „Forschungsstelle zum Vergleich wirtschaftlicher Lenkungssysteme“ (Research centre for the comparison of economic allocation systems). The Research centre was situated in the facilities am Barfuessertor 2, which is now used (amongst others) by the research group Institutional Economics. In the seminar room on the first floor, you find memorial tablets about Prof. Dr. Karl Paul Hensel, which were given to the MACIE by the Doris und Dr. Michael Hagemann-Stiftung as a present. Prof. Dr. Elisabeth Schulte is the executive director of the MACIE. Please find further information on the websites of the Marburg Centre for Institutional Economics (MACIE).
