10-Year Most Influential Paper Award 2018

At this year's International Conference on Model Driven Engineering Languages and Systems, held in Copenhagen from October 14-19, 2018, the paper "Precise Semantics of EMF Model Transformations By Graph Transformations" by Enrico Biermann, Claudia Ermel, and Gabriele Taentzer (Technische Universität Berlin, Philipps-Universität Marburg) received the "10-Year Most Influential Paper Award".

Modern software is increasingly long-lived and subject to constant change. This can quickly have an impact on the quality of the software. Software models help to investigate the essential aspects of a software and to prove its quality. Models can support the design of new software components or be used to document and validate existing software. In the awarded research work, a commonly used modeling approach has been theoretically substantiated, providing a basis for quality testing of software models. In the last 10 years, the theoretical results have been implemented practically and used in particular for the improved development of long-lived software within the DFG priority program Design For Future - Managed Software Evolution.
