Syntactic quality of software models

Research cooperation with Siemens (2007 - 2012)

While quality assurance for software systems has so far mostly been considered at the code level, this project is concerned with the question of what syntactic quality of software models means and how it can be achieved. We are mainly concerned with the following questions:
What techniques for quality assurance of software models already exist?
Which techniques for quality assurance have been established for software code and can be transferred to the quality assurance of software models?

After this investigation we want to develop a tool-independent concept for model optimization. It will be mainly based on model smell concepts and model refactoring.
