  • BPC Talks

Every three months, a member institute research group leader of the Biomedical Pharmacological Research Center gives a lecture on state-of-art-research methods, including discussion.

  • BPC Seminars

The member institutes and research labs of the Biomedical Pharmacological Research Center organize a joint seminar series that takes place approximately seven times per year. In this seminar series, senior researchers or external guests present current research highlights.

  • TAC Meetings

Each doctoral candidate of the BPC Graduate Programme is supported by his or her personal "Thesis Advisory Committee" (TAC). A TAC consists of three members: The graduate student’s supervisor and two additional members from other institutes of the University of Marburg, or from institutes/research centers outside Marburg. TAC meetings take place approximately once per year. The TAC monitors the graduate student’s progress and provides guidance towards achievement of individual scientific and professional goals.

  • Tea Sessions

Tea sessions seek to foster networking and personal exchange between graduates. These informal sessions are organized by the graduate programme participants and take place once a month. In each tea session, one doctoral candidate presents his or her research project to other doctoral candidates of the BPC Graduate Programme.

  • PhD Day

The PhD day is an event organized by the doctoral students. On this occasion, the graduates from the BPC Graduate Programme present their latest research activities by poster or oral presentation. In addition, the board of doctoral students, supported by the Graduate Programme Coordinator, invites a nationally or internationally recognized scientist for a talk or a lecture.

  • Training Workshops

Graduate students of the BPC Graduate Programme are strongly recommended to participate in  MArburg University Research Academy (MARA) activities. MARA offers a comprehensive range of courses covering personal skill development, networking as well as funding opportunities. Each Graduate Programme student should participate in at least one MARA training course per year.

  • Excursions

The Federal State of Hessen’s public and private biomedical-pharmaceutical research landscape forms a unique regional cluster. Members of the BPC Graduate Programme will be given the opportunity to attend on-site excursions to companies or relevant authorities in the biomedical or pharmaceutical field.

  • Gender, diversity, and family friendliness

Within the BPC  Graduate Programme  various measures to achieve equal opportunities for all people in science, and to promote diversity and family-friendliness at the workplace have been implemented. This includes family-friendly seminar hours as well as awareness for specific encouragement of women in science.
