Server Hosting is based on the service of Server Housing. While the University Computer Center only provides the infrastructure to house and operate its own server, we also take over the administration of leased servers. It is also possible to set up virtual servers, which eliminates the need to purchase your own server. Hosting is therefore an extension of Housing.

Due to current Housing plans by the University Computer Center, Hosting is currently limited to the provision of virtual servers. Find detailed information on virtual servers under the service "Virtual Servers".

Target group

The offer is aimed at university members who independently support an IT application from the areas of research or teaching and have the appropriate knowledge for the administration of a server.

The development of the University Computer Center’s housing infrastructure is currently in the planning phase; therefore, it is not yet available as a comprehensive service. The reason for this is the limited availability of air-conditioned space and an adequate power supply.
