Doctoral Studies

The MCDCI is an interdisciplinary research center where digital methods in the humanities and social sciences, as well as the digital transformation of society, culture, and science, are explored within the framework of various projects. It thus offers a suitable environment for conducting research and doctoral projects. The center is operated by Philipps University of Marburg, jointly with the Herder Institute for Historical Research on East Central Europe – Institute of the Leibniz Association, the Landesarchiv Hessen, the Archivschule Marburg – Hochschule für Archivwissenschaft as well as the Hessisches Institut für Landesgeschichte. This means that supervisors and doctoral students at the MCDCI are not only connected to various departments within the university but also integrated into a broad network of research institutions, enabling the exploration of interdisciplinary topics.
