About
Since 2014, researchers from the Philipps-Universität Marburg, the Justus Liebig University Giessen, the Herder Institute for Historical Research on Eastern Central Europe and the University of Bamberg have been conducting transdisciplinary research in the Collaborative Research Centre Transregio 138 "Dynamics of Security. Types of Securitization from a Historical Perspective", which the DFG is now funding in its 3rd funding period. Around 50 researchers from the disciplines of history, peace and conflict studies, political science, law and sociology are investigating how ideas of security have changed historically and how they find expression in the development and implementation of political measures. Of particular interest are the mutually dependent processes of the representation and production of security in their respective historical contexts. The Collaborative Research Center subsumes these dynamic processes under the term "securitization".
