02.01.2023 The Collaborative Research Center "Dynamics of Security" welcomes visiting fellow Ivan Bakalov

Dr. Ivan Bakalov completed his PhD at the Bremen International Graduate School of Social Sciences (BIGSSS) on the topic "Setting soft power in motion: Tracing the Mechanisms of Russian Soft Power in Ukraine". As a fellow in subproject B05 "Ver- und Entsicherheitlichung fiduciary transitional administrations in political transition processes" (headed by Prof. Dr. Thorsten Bonacker) he is deepening his work on Russian soft power, language policy and administrative reform in Ukraine. Most recently, he was a lecturer at the Department of Political Science at Leiden University. His research will tie in with subproject B05 by addressing the issue of internationalized governance in a post-imperial context using the example of the Union State (Russian-Belarusian Union).
