Research Fellow in the DFG-Project "More than writing: encoding and decoding in and from Amerindian graphic communication systems between Mexico and the Andes".




Research areas:

visual anthropology, graphic pluralism, historical anthropology, cultural representations and perceptions of disasters in the past, anthropology of art and images, visual transculturation, autoethnography, stereotypes, semiotics, ethnoarchaeology, images in commerce, power and danger of iconography, symbolism, cognitive anthropology
