Research

The research focus of Indo-European Linguistics in Marburg is on the Old Anatolian languages (Hittite, Luwian, Lydian, Lycian, etc.), which represent an important branch of the large Indo-European language family. We are particularly interested in the etymology and word formation, but also the pragmatics, i.e. the context-dependent usage, of these and other Indo-European languages.
