BlueRa is an app to facilitate long-range chat and micro-blogging in crisis scenarios. Through a custom firmware for low-cost LoRa capable micro-controller boards, smartphones can be enabled to use LoRa through a Bluetooth connection. BlueRa works on Android and iOS. Using Bluetooth, LoRa and DTN technologies, BlueRa enables comunication in crisis scenarios without relying on possibly damaged infrastructures based on off-the-shelf components.

BlueRa is free and openly available on Github. More information can be found in the scientific paper published at the 17th International Conference on Information Systems for Crisis Response and Management (ISCRAM) 2020.
