M3L Courses and Seminars (Winter Semester 2026/27)

The M3L group explores how people interact with and learn from intelligent systems. Our winter semester 2026/27 courses span computer vision, AI in education, and human-computer interaction.

Computer Vision I (Lecture & Exercise)

The lecture Computer Vision I provides a comprehensive introduction to how computers can represent, analyze, and understand images and videos. It covers classical image-processing foundations as well as modern machine-learning and deep-learning methods for visual recognition and understanding.

Algorithmic Cultures: AI Systems Between Technical Design and Social Impact (Seminar)

Artificial intelligence systems are technical artefacts that shape culture, and cultural forces shape technical design. Yet, these two sides are rarely studied as one problem. This interdisciplinary seminar brings students from CS (Computer Science, Data Science, and Computer Science Education) with students from Cultural Data Studies (CDS) to explore concrete AI systems and AI application areas from both distciplinary angles.

Topics in Human-Computer Interaction: Interaction Techniques (Seminar)

Interaction techniques define how users observe, manipulate, and interact with computing systems. They encompass a wide range of approaches, from direct manipulation on desktop and mobile devices to voice interaction, gestural input, and augmented and virtual reality. This seminar investigates how interaction techniques are designed, developed, and evolve in response to new technologies and interaction challenges.
